Hubbard Hospice House The Hubbard Hospice House is a spacious 24-bedroom facility perched on a mountaintop high above Charleston, built with all the comforts of home in mind. Large, private rooms surround attractive family sitting areas. Each room has its own bathroom and comfortable seating for patients and families. Family rooms and two fully equipped kitchens allow families to stay with their loved ones and to feel at home. Two of the rooms also have been decorated and equipped to meet the needs of terminally ill pediatric patients in our community. As well as the comforts of home, patients receive specialized medical and nursing care to relieve the symptoms of their illness, such as pain and breathlessness. HospiceCare nurses and specially trained certified nursing assistants care for patients around the clock. A HospiceCare physician visits regularly and is on call 24 hours a day. Social workers, counselors, chaplains and volunteers are also available to make patients and families as comfortable as possible. The Hubbard Hospice House serves hospice patients who:
