HospiceCare is pleased to now offer an alternative to home-based or nursing home care for families and their loved ones dealing with Alzheimer's Disease and dementia, as well as other age-related disorders that don't rise to level of requiring hospice services.
 Kanawha Senior Enrichment Center:
In spring of 2005, the Kanawha Senior Enrichment Center opened as the area’s first free-standing adult day care center owned and operated by healthcare professionals experienced in caring for and understanding the needs
of older adults in our community.
The KSEC offers daily and hourly rates to allow for more flexible scheduling. Residents of personal care homes and nursing homes are also eligble to receive services if they meet criteria for admission.
The Kanawha Senior Enrichment Center features many of the comforts of home and provides
several attractive and pleasant settings in which clients can enjoy conversations with each other, participate in group activities, stretch out and read, focus on a puzzle, hobby or art project, watch their favorite TV show,
or just relax in peace and quiet.
Our goal is to help our clients enjoy their day with us as much as possible based on their needs. The center gives seniors a chance to socialize, participate in and enjoy a variety of activities, while giving families peace of mind in knowing their loved ones are being well supervised and looked after in a bright and cheerful environment close to home.
What our program provides:
• A clean, well-maintained and
comfortable environment
easily accessible on one level
• Easy front-door parking and entryway
• Flexible scheduling from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday
• Hot lunch served daily, as well as snacks and beverages
• Supervised activities, crafts, games and poetry
• TV and reading rooms
• Out-of-center seasonal activities
 KSEC offers simple assistance
and supervision of our clients to encourage self-care with a focus on their dignity and independence.
We encourage client input and appreciate
all of their participation
in planning daily events, activities and meals.
Our goal is to give the best care possible while keeping our overall costs affordable for most families.

KSEC is owned and operated by HospiceCare, a local non-profit healthcare agency with 30 years of experience serving families that are dealing with end-of-life issues across the state of West Virginia.
