HospiceCare takes a holistic approach to patient care – meaning we care for the patient and the family. We are here to assist in bringing comfort and care to all involved. We understand caregiving is one of the hardest jobs anyone will ever do, and millions more people are becoming caregivers every year. Sometimes care for the caregiver is needed. There may be times when a caregiver needs to step away for a short period of time to recharge. HospiceCare offers short-term respite care in our in-patient facilities when space is available. Simply discuss your needs with your hospice team and they can assist you in making the appropriate arrangements.
Respite Care
Respite care allows for the caregiver to enjoy a short vacation or take needed time to handle personal matters.
Using the hospice benefit, a maximum respite stay of five days is allowable. The caregiver can trust that their loved one is cared for by highly trained hospice physicians and nurses that will be on hand to provide the comfort and security needed.
