Our volunteers provide comfort and companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their family and caregivers in a variety of ways. We rely on our volunteers to help with patient care, office work, errands, outreach and fundraising, among other activities.
Volunteers give the gift of themselves, their time and energy and in return gain great personal satisfaction knowing that they have made a significant impact in the lives of others.
HospiceCare is proud of the hard work of our more than 300 dedicated volunteers. Each and every one holds a special place in our hearts and we are grateful for all the compassionate care and support they provide our patients, families and staff.
Patient care volunteers spend their time visiting with hospice patients where they are, be it at their home or apartment, a nursing home or a long-term care facility, or one of our four in-patient hospice units. Volunteers do not provide any medical care. They are simply there to provide comfort, support and companionship to the patient and their family.
